ORAL HABIT GARAGE FROCK

Brighton psych-garage trio Oral Habit have announced their debut EP Garage Frock! and its title track. ‘Garage Frock’ is a freeing, frenetic track that isn’t afraid to sound messy. Their pairing of distant, distorted vocals and intensely heavy-yet-jangly guitars is clearly influenced by Osees, with an atmospheric psychedelic breakdown further emphasising the connection. Vocalist/guitarist Charlie Hales describes the track as “an instinctual shriek into the abyss, throttling our instruments until they leak with feedback. Flailing over organ keys whilst the pounding floor tom ties us back to the final cry, ‘was it all for free?’.” You can catch the band live in the UK this summer and check out their EP when it drops on July 7th. -Dan Peeke
